Vision and Precision
Madden NFL 06 is in stores now, giving you the chance to experience the ultimate in football realism: the new Vision and Precision passing system. An enhancement to Madden NFL's longtime passing game mechanics, Vision and Precision puts you into the shoes of an NFL quarterback and lets you read the field to find the open receiver. Like a real quarterback learning the position, it may take some time for Madden NFL 06 gamers to become adept at scanning the field, so here are some tips to learning how to play like a pro:
- Watch the tutorial video to the right to get an overview of how the Vision and Precision system works.
- Make sure to check out our feature on Vision and Precision to learn more about the passing game changes and how real NFL quarterbacks find the system to be a highly-realistic improvement to Madden NFL 06.
- Go to Practice mode and play 'Offense Only' practice type and just get used to passing the ball to the primary WR (the one that the cone vision is defaulted to). Use the precision feature to throw high, low, behind, and lead.
- Start choosing a different WR than your primary WR before you snap the ball and then throw to him after the snap. You can do this by holding R2 and pressing the icon of the receiver you want to change to before the snap. Changing your cone's primary WR before the snap of the ball will be the single-most important thing you can do to ease you into the process.
- Practice passing to a different WR than your primary WR after the ball is snapped. You can have the quarterback look at the receiver either by holding down the R2 button and pressing the receiver's icon before passing the ball, or by using the right analog stick to scan the field manually.
